Alumni services
AlumniNet is a dedicated web site for Institute of Design alumni. The site offers several services:
- News about ID and related issues as well as alumni activities.
- Personal profiles alumni can modify and publish to other alumni, the ID community or the entire Web. (Don't forget to add your picture!)
- Search profiles of other alumni and members of the ID community.
- Discussion boards on various topics of interest to alumni.
- Web hosting services. ID offers alumni up to 40 MB of digital storage space to host your web site on our server for non-commercial or storage use.
If you have not yet registered for AlumniNet, all you need to do is fill out this form. Once you fill out the form we will verify your alumni status, and create your AlumniNet account. We will e-mail your account information and log-in instructions to the e-mail address you provide in the form.
AlumniNet users also receive a lifetime ID e-mail address. Users can set up e-mail forwarding, so any messages sent to your ID e-mail account will be forwarded automatically to another account you specify. You can also continue to use your ID account as your main e-mail account.
E-mail lists:
1. Global: "id-alum@id.iit.edu" is a global e-mail list for topics of general interest to ID alumni anywhere in the world. To sign up for the ID alumni mailing list, send an e-mail to majordomo@id.iit.edu and include in the text of the message:
subscribe id-alum you@youremail.com
replacing "you@youremail.com" with your own e-mail address. You can post to the id-alum list only from this account that you subscribe from.
2. Local lists "id-alum-sf@id.iit.edu" and "id-alum-chicago@id.iit.edu" are regional lists for alumni in these two metropolitan areas, or others who want to follow the goings-on there. Sign-up steps are the same as above, just replace "subscribe id-alum" with "subscribe id-alum-sf" or "subscribe id-alum-chicago" in the body of the message.
3. Jobs: "id-alum-jobs" is a list specifically for job postings relevant to ID graduates. Sign-up steps are the same as above, just replace "id-alum" with "id-alum-jobs".
